Showing at 'Celebrations' exhibition 2014

 

My illuminated column forms in very fine white bonechina paperclay are available for another 2 weeks during the 'Celebrations' show at the Inner City Clayworkers Gallery in Glebe.
The gallery is open 10.30am - 5pm Wed. - Sun.

Beautiful majolica work.

Have seen this potter's work on the net a few times and I love it's simplicity! Guess I usually think of majolica as the Delft ware or Italian majolica or often over worked pieces I see with hobbyists but this work is simple, gentle, easy to relate to as tableware, asymmetrical and 'imperfect' which is something I really respond to.......the whole wabi-sabi thing.

So very pretty!

Mixed media ceramic jewellery

Just saw this entry on ArtsHub about ceramic mixed media jewellery.

Would love to spend more time experimenting with this, have many ideas to try out.....would also like to get to Canberra to see this too......

Opening event for 'Illusion' exhibition

What a lot of fun!....after all the nerves of the last few days of course!

Ceramics looked good...
Food was very yummy...
Councillor Robyn Kemmis said lovely things...
Guests were chatty and gracious....
The magician was cheeky....
....and a red dot sale of one of my prints...
............in all a great experience!!

Wild again!!!

Its that time of the season again.....the very lovely Wild Ones Art & Design Market is on this Sunday at the amazing Hazelhurst Regional Gallery....will have my table of colourful treasures out for sale......looking forward to it!!

'Illusion' - inaugral exhibition at Inner City Clayworkers Gallery, Feb.2014

Bone china, wood, metal, gritty stoneware clays....

Mixed media ceramics are the perfect vehicle to express conceptual concerns of dynamic interaction, unity within opposition, stillness, strength and weakness, timelessness, decay and the light and dark dichotomies in our relationships to the world and each other.

'Illusion' begins my journey into these eternal concepts.  I look forward to exploring these concepts further as I continue in my ceramics career.

Poatina Arts week 2014

 Very excited to have been at Poatina Arts this year teaching painting and drawing to 8 great people in a FANTASTIC environment!
